Happy new year!

Here we go again, about to celebrate another spin around the sun.
It is somewhat confusing to me, that we have selected to celebrate to go around in circles (or ellipses, for you perfectionists out there!), and end up where we started.

But so be it. Gives us another reason to get good friends together, reminisce the good old times, and wish everyone another set of 365 happy days.
Anyway, I wish all of them, and all after those to be great and always better than the ones before them.
Have a good life, year, day...!

Happy 2010!

Sports?

Since I was a kid, sports were never my thing. Some of my friends made fun of it, others tried to get me into it... it never was something I wanted to pay attention to.
I liked exercising to some extent, but it was hard to me, to this day, to understand the soccer obsession, the american football obsession, and all other sports related obsessions.

Today, while listening to one of the most intelligent men in our time, I understood that we shared something in our opinions of sports:

This video is an excerpt
from the 1992 documentary "Manufacturing Consent",
about Noam Chomsky.

And now, I care even less, if or who wins the World Cup, the whatever-championship, or the Olympics.
Waste of time? Not entirely.
But surely way down on my list of priorities.

Bertrand Russell once said:

"The whole problem with the world
is that fools and fanatics
are always so sure of themselves,
but wiser people so full of doubts."

Portugues -> English

Upon having received several requests and/or complaints about my blogs being in Portuguese and written for Portuguese readers, I decided that I should embrace fairness a bit more and make the switch.
As such, my main blog (tsnacio.blogspot.com) is about to make that transition. As of this post, all present and future content will be made available in English only.
As my Portuguese friends browse the blog less and less, and my new American friends grow in numbers, it is only logical to follow the trend, the language that the majority of my new friends speak, and get it over with. Besides, all the Portuguese friends and/or readers that I have around Europe also speak English. They rule, so... what are we waiting for?

Note: All blogs will follow this trend sooner or later. So this post applies to all. In the specific case of the blog "O Emigrante", the change will be more severe. The blog will close its Portuguese version, and "A Portuguese Immigrant" will take its place with a new look and web address. Keep an eye for that change on the right column under active blogs.

I am God!
